There are many factors that can affect our ear health including age, the misuse of earbuds, constant exposure to very loud noises and of course the build-up of wax. If our ear health is compromised then our ability to hear deteriorates.

At New Inn Pharmacy we offer accessible Ear Health services, both as an NHS Wales and private service.

Diagnosis & Treatment with TympaHealth

Using the TympaHealth system we can quickly diagnose ear & hearing conditions including infections and ear wax build up. Following diagnosis, many ear conditions (such as infections) can be treated by our Independent Prescribing Pharmacist clinician.

Excessive & compacted ear wax may often be identified at your NHS Ear Health check-up consultation. Our prescribing pharmacist specialises in ear health and can treat excessive ear wax and ear infections as an NHS Wales service.

Patients may also benefit from earwax removal by Microsuction, which is the gold standard for ear wax removal, and is also offered as a private service at New Inn Pharmacy.

If desired patients can book a second private appointment for ear wax removal by microsuction at a later date which should give sufficient time for ear wax softener (such as Olive Oil) to work, as this will help the ‘microsuction’ procedure.

Treatment Cost

The Ear initial Ear Health Consultation should take a maximum of 20 minutes and is an NHS service. Our Independent Prescribing Pharmacist will diagnose your ear health issue and offer NHS treatment where appropriate.

Ear Wax Removal by Microsuction costs £60 as a private should this be required.
